VCT Winners

Who knew it would be little Shawna winning our first ever VCT -Venue Championship Tournament.
That's right, she did. So what does that mean you ask? Well Shawna signed up to play poker in our league Canadian Amateur Poker Tour at The Stroud Pub in Stroud, Ontario. So the pub is showing there appreciation by giving away a $ 275.00 buy in to The Montreal Open which takes place in March. Supporting members who signed up at there home venue were invited to play in the VCT and Shawna who never made it to the top 30 in the league managed to take it down. Okay so she only had a few people to beat...lol....but she did it :)  I guess the poker gods were on her side.

VCT's are being held on regular game nights this week and Monday night's winner from Grayson's Pub & Grub was WOODY and I wasn't even the dealer. It seems whenever I deal he always makes it to final table. He is beginning to think of me as his lucky charm ;) ...Woody ( Derek Senechal ) was also our 2nd place winner in our Season 3 championship tournament...Nice work Shawna & Woody!

Now I wonder who will win it tonight at The Penalty Box...I will let you know when I know....
No wins all season, 21 final tables, 60+ games played...and the winner is...John Dowling. Congratulations John! All that hard work payed off. Well done :) Picture of John will be posted soon.

Congratulations going to Harley Lawler (sr) as our VCT winner at Sunny's. Sr. joined the league late in the season under the impression that he would not make the top 30 due to the fact that half the season had gone by already. One week left in the season and SR. was in 30th, couldn't play the final week but kept his position none the less. A great poker player indeed! Maybe JR. could take lessons from his ol man...hehe ;)

The VCT's come to an end with our final winner Kaitlynn Verrall winning the $275 buy-in to The Montreal Open. Kaitlynn played in Orilla at her home venue Broken Road. Congratulations Kaitlynn!! You played a great game. It's nice to see 2 women in the mix heading to Montreal in March 2011. Well 3 really cus I will be going too :) Picture of Kaitlynn, John and Sr will be added soon....I promise....

Season 3 Championship

Season 3 Champion
Jason Watson
Another great season of poker comes to an end with Congratulations going to Jason Watson our 1st place winner. You played a great game BONES. Well deserved. Also congratulations to  Woody ( Derek Senechal ) woody is so much easier to spell, lol, who came in 2nd and Jennifer DeRienzo who came in 3rd. All 3 will be going to play in The Montreal Open in March 2011 which is a great event for an even greater cause.

I have to say that our league is made up of the best bunch of people ever. Many thanks to all of you for your continued support. Every day and night of poker from the start has a story to be told. From "bad beats" to "really bad beats" , from "good play" to "what the hell were you thinking calling with that shit". Yup that's poker. You win some, you lose some. I mean seriously how often does the best hand win, not often.....but wait here's a best hand win story for ya....

"Royal Flush"
4 of a kind JACKS get's crippled with the best possible hand of poker ever "ROYAL FLUSH"....the funny thing is the two players involved Terry Denis who had the royal flush and James Byers, mr 4 of a kind didn't even realize there was a royal flush on the table and for a brief moment thought the 4 of a kind Jacks won the hand, until another player on the table jumps up and says hold on here, thats a royal flush...madness.
Again congratulations to  our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place season 3 winners.

Season 4 starts Sunday August 29th, 12:00 pm  @ Sunny's in Alcona. It will be a mixed game NLTH/NLO for double points.

Looking forward to another great season :)
